This week’s Kickstarter Game of the Week is, of course, Lost Ember. It’s a game in which you play a wolf wandering around a beautiful landscape. That’s really all you need to know, because the game looks absolutely gorgeous.

Okay, a little more info. You’re on a quest to find its place in the world, guided by a mysterious creature. You’ll eventually uncover a long lost civilization and it’s revealed this mysterious companion is the last lost soul of that civilization. Using his memory powers, you’ll get a glimpse of what this world used to look like, and even process other creatures to get to new areas.

This game is really reminiscent of Okami, the old PS2 game, and not just because you’re playing a wolf. The visuals are equally impressive, and some of the themes and presentation in general are very similar.

It should come as no surprise that this incredible looking game shattered its funding goal in no time. I estimated in the video it’d have over $250,000 by the time this goes up, and while that’s not right (it’s only around $212,000 now) it’s still impressive. This might be the fasted funded game on Kickstarter that isn’t a sequel, spiritual successor, or doesn’t have a famous name attached to it. Because of that, Lost Ember has my respect.
