It’s no secret I’m a big fan of LucasArts adventure games. It shouldn’t come as a surprise then that I’d instantly back a new game by Ron Gilbert (of Monkey Island fame). Well, as of the latest update, Thimbleweed Park finally has a release…year. While a specific date has not been set, the update says we can expect to see Thimbleweed Park in 2017. If I’m reading it correctly, possibly just a few months from now.

The update also shared that voice lines were recorded in December. Currently, the team is working on putting finishing touches on the game. As such, all backers need to finish off their surveys if they haven’t already done so. Especially those who gave money to the clown’s “swear jar”. I don’t recall putting in for this add-on, but you should still get to hear my voice in the phone book messages. Anyway, this will be the year of Thimbleweed Park, so make sure you keep an eye out.
