I’ll admit I like a good anthro story, especially if it features cat girls. Neko Club is a romantic visual novel about a bunch of them needing some sort of hero. Apparently, they used to be slaves of sorts but recently attained independence. And, there are forces at work that want to bring them back into indentured servitude. At least, that’s what I got from the pitch.

Of course, there’s more to Neko Club than just trying to seduce…um, I mean romance a bunch of cat girls. While that would be enough to make me want to back it, the story goes deeper than that. As mentioned, someone is trying to return them to slavery. And it’s up to you to help them. You’re also not the one they were hoping for. You’re no hero, but that doesn’t mean you can’t help them.

Neko ClubI love visual novels that go a bit deeper than hormone-induced skirt chasing. I certainly still enjoy that kind of thing, but it just adds extra flavor to an already delectable plate. There’s not much about the overall plot, but what I’ve seen makes me very much interested in knowing more about Neko Club. Perhaps with updates I can make a decision one way or another, but it’s certainly worth starring for now.

As of the time of this writing, the campaign for Neko Club is doing very well.  After all, who wouldn’t want more content added to their game? It does make one wonder if they cut too much out to make $6,000, but I wouldn’t be concerned that a few will unlock before time runs out.
