Have you ever wanted to play a side scrolling platformer beat-em-up game featuring cavemen? Well, now you can in Caveman Warriors. I normally don’t like playing this kind of game, but I have to admit it does look like a lot of fun. Maybe not enough to actually back it, but certainly enough to consider picking it up at a later date. After all, who doesn’t enjoy hitting things with sticks and bones?

Caveman Warriors

The basic premise, from what I can tell, is that Caveman Warriors tells the story of aliens who for some reason decide to kidnap these Neanderthals’ children. The game looks to take them on a journey throughout preshistoric Earth as they try to get their kids back. Honestly, I think this one is light on the story. Which is fine for an action game such as this.

What I like most about Caveman Warriors is that you can pick and choose out of four playable characters. There are two men and two women, each with their own set of abilities. Even better, you can switch between them on the fly. I personally like Brienne who seems like the “tank” of the group. For fun, you can also team up with up to three friends, each one taking one of these cavemen and women.

Caveman Warriors

For a side scrolling platformer action game, Caveman Warriors looks like a lot of fun. Even for someone like myself who doesn’t particularly enjoy this kind of game. The video is also pretty funny, a homage to 2001: A Space Odyssey. Anyway, they’re not asking for much so I don’t see this one not making it. Plus, they’ve got a demo to try out if you’re on the fence about backing.
