Awesome Games Done Quick 2019 has finally begun! The bi-annual speedrun event will be benefiting the Prevent Cancer Foundation, which focuses on cancer prevention and early detection, both within the United States and internationally.
Running from January 6th to 11th, the biggest speedrunning organization in the world will be playing through games both huge and small, from a nine and a half-hour speedrun of Final Fantasy IX to a five-minute speedrun of Spike Hike.
To kick off the event, speedrunner Vysuals ran Hollow Knight with a time of 1:27:57, reaching the true ending with no major glitches on PC. Keep in mind that throughout the event, there will be donation incentives, which if met will open up new as-of-yet undisclosed games to be run during the scheduled “Setup blocks.” You can check out the updated schedule for all games being run at the event at GDQ’s official website.
