Raji: An Ancient Epic might have been the most gorgeous game at EGX Rezzed.

Influenced by Hindu and Balinese legends, the titular Raji must go on a journey to rescue her brother and defeat a demon lord. Other than exploring the beautiful environments, the player will also have to solve puzzles and fight various monsters of legend. These monsters evolve through the game as Raji herself grows, keeping the challenges fresh.

Bringing Southeast Asia into Games

The team at Nodding Head Games has a variety of expertises that come together to create this uniquely southeast Asian game, from the Indian developers on staff to a trip to Bali and Indonesia to study the local mythology and art. The game mostly takes place in medieval era forts, which allow for both closed quarters combat and great views across the land below – not to mention the breathtaking way the flowers grow across the ruins.

Though the game’s a way off from its launch in the second half of 2019, it has a playable demo, so you can try it for yourself.
