chosenspace2Back in 2006, Chosen Space, a free to play in browser space explorative MMO, launched and developed a strong community and base. After eight years, the developers have decided to revamp it with the help of Kickstarter. Twin Pixel has developed their very own user friendly in browser MMO engine, MMO Lab, that allows players to create their own browser based MMO easily – no understanding of programming required. With use of their MMO Lab Engine, they plan to redesign Chosen Space.

Chosen Space is an in browser MMO and RPG centered around exploring space with your very own customizable ship, doing as you please. Space is your oyster with plenty of things to do, ranging from playing as a bounty hunter to simply hauling around some cargo. Everything is completely text-based with a universe manipulative and vast at your fingertips. Like the original, this version of Chosen Space is planned to be free to play as well with the option for players to purchase in game currency and various assets.

Chosen Space development has been self funded so far and is currently is in its Early Alpha Stage. With the £5,400 received from the Kickstarter, the Twin Pixel team will continue development until June 2015, when Chosen Space’s release is predicted. At the moment, roughly £2.4k has been raised so far. For actual and potential backers, Twin Pixel has opened up the MMO Lab forums to engage discussion about Chosen Space and get players’ input, which will influence the final product.
