I love a good Mythos inspired game, no matter the genre. Of course, I enjoy some styles of gameplay more than others. However, just the subject matter of H.P. Lovecraft’s tales are enough to make me take a look at it. Well, coming soon to Kickstarter is a turn-based strategy game called Rise of the Elders: Cthulhu. And I have to say, from what I’ve seen I like it.

Rise of the Elders: Cthulhu

Rise of the Elders: Cthulhu is a video game inspired by both board games and tabletop RPGs all stuffed into a great looking video game. The graphics actually do remind me of playing a board game digitally. And that’s a good thing. The screenshots and videos on the Web site look like this could just be my kind of game. Including the use of sanity as well as health to erode an investigator’s stats.

Rise of the Elders: Cthulhu

Rise of the Elders: Cthulhu is slated for launch on Kickstarter by the end of this month from what I’ve been told. Frankly, I’m pretty excited to dive deeper into this take on the Mythos. We don’t have long to wait to get more information, but the site itself does give a good deal already. In fact, just from that I can already tell it’ll be worth backing for anyone who likes board games or horror games.
