Almost everyone has probably played Pac-Man at least once in their lives. The classic gameplay of moving through a maze to collect pellets and avoid ghosts is simple – and classic. Dark Deception is an upcoming horror game… so how does it connect to Pac-Man? Well, it takes that simplistic gameplay of “collect items and avoid bad things” and sets it in a variety of creepy landscapes. Of course, the things chasing after you are a tad more frightening than colorful ghosts with cutesy names.
Dark Deception is a first person horror game where you must traverse a variety of themed levels and collect all purple shards before leaving. Why you need these shards is related to the story, but it doesn’t seem that important as long as it serves an entertaining gameplay mechanic. Anyway, as you go through each area monsters will chase after you. Environment types include a prison, carnival, school, and Chuck E Cheese-like location. Although this seems to rob the game of any thematic cohesion, it does sound like it will work well as a nightmare factory of sorts! Every section has its own enemy types as well, so you can expect to find Five Nights at Freddy’s-inspired baddies in the Chuck E Cheese section.
You’ll be able to play the game with an Oculus Rift, although it’s not required. Right now they’re also working to get the game running with Sony’s Morpheus headset. Once they reach the goal of $15,000 you’ll just have to wait a bit (launch date set for April 2015) for the release of Dark Deception on Windows, PS4, PS Vita, and Wii U.

Yeah I was thinking Of Five Nights of Freedy too when I looked at some of those pics. Not my cup of tea but still wish them well!
