It’s not uncommon to spot linguistic difficulties on Kickstarter, but Disoriented is special in that its Kickstarter page makes me feel exactly that. Have a read of this:
‘DISORIENTED it’s Freeroam & Roleplaying game is based on Ultimate Survival ! You can do almost everything in this Game you can Build your dream house or even your dream boat also you can have fun with full physical things like objects .All you have to do is Support Us on kickstarter to make this game happen , And start your own adventure and enjoy’.
Well there you have it. If you’d like to have fun with full physical things like objects, Disoriented just might be the game for you. From what I can gather, it’s a third-person survival game with RPG elements that has players walking, swimming, and rowing around an island. The trailer on the game’s Kickstarter page also demonstrates some crafting elements that are used to build huts and such, as well as the brutal axe murder of an unfortunate lady, whose body is later dumped at sea. There’s variety, at least.
Again, the project’s page is rendered in less-than-perfect English, but it sounds like the game features procedurally generated environments, meaning every player will have their own unique island to explore. Aside from that, I’m not sure what else players can expect to get up to. Hunting? Climbing? Painting faces on dodgeballs?
I can definitely see a game like this working. The concept is fine, anyway. I can imagine players running around, going on their own little adventures, telling their friends. I’m not sure if I can see a first-time developer like MaxSoft Games bringing in $200,000, though, but they have 53 days to prove me wrong. If you’re at all interested, or would like to contribute, you can check out the project’s Kickstarter page for more poorly-translated information.
