supremeruler1Battlegoat Studios are back again with another in their beloved Supreme Ruler series, Supreme Ruler 1936.  Are you worried that they have a Kickstarter campaign for it?  Don’t be, the game is coming out regardless of whether they meet their $60,000 funding goal.  In fact, it’s due early next year.  Isn’t that exciting?

So why a Kickstarter campaign?  Is this another Kickstarter for the sake of publicity?  Here’s what the team has to say to that :

Support from Kickstarter will allow us to develop additional Campaigns, Scenarios, and in-game content for the launch of Supreme Ruler 1936.  The game will ship with Grand Campaigns starting in 1936 (“The Gathering Storm”) and 1940 (“The Battle for France”), playable from many of the major powers.  With Kickstarter support we can also add Campaigns from 1941 (“Barbarossa”) and beyond.

Supreme Ruler 1936 will also ship with a number of Scenarios, covering many of the major battles of World War II.  We’d like to add more Scenarios, especially from later in the war, and would also like to hear about what battles you would like us to include.

supremerulerThere’s also a lot of opportunities for more content – more unit meshes, more technologies, more details on minor countries, more options for gameplay.  All of this can be made possible with the support of this project through Kickstarter.

Ok, seems reasonable.  While the lack of fear may make it a bit more difficult to get backers, it’s good for backers.  Backers can get into the closed beta, pick up the game for less than it will cost when its released, and help contribute to the addition of a lot of content.

Learn more about Supreme Ruler 1936 on the Kickstarter campaign page.  The funding goal is $60,000 by November 16th.
