warriorbattleground2Warrior Battleground, a brand new hack n’ slash title coming to us from RES Creative Studio has launched their Kickstarter campaign with a promotional video with a surprising amount of blood, pleasing visuals, and a killer soundtrack, but the proof here is in the pudding, so let’s take a look and see what we can expect from Warrior Battleground.

Warrior Battleground’s Kickstarter video gives the impression that this will be a game dominated by multiplayer, but you can also expect a lengthy single-player campaign to supplement the online aspect of the game, offering the RPG-standard gameplay elements of NPC-given quests, armor and weapon progression, and story elements. The meat of the game does seem to lie in the multiplayer, where combat revolves around unique character-created heroes fighting with a wide range of melee and ranged weapons against each other in a small arena. The multiplayer aspects will also feature weapon and armor progression. After each battle, you’ll go to a HUB where you can join new battles, or upgrade your gear. Videos of the game suggest that dual-wielding will be standard, and primary and secondary weapon classes have already been set, allowing you to combine any two weapons from a selection of swords, guns, axes, scythes, shields, and more.

Warrior Battleground is currently seeking just $25,000 in funding to release their game on Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, and OUYA, with the PC releases being DRM-free digital downloads. Backers can expect beta access, special gear, art books, and ways to contribute to the game creatively. That’s Warrior Battleground by RES Creative Studio.
