theseedupdate1I whine a lot about how many visual novels there are on Kickstarter, I’ll give you that, but let’s not forget about The Seed, here. The Seed is an interactive novel, yes, but it’s done in a completely different style than most of what I’ve seen before, and after successfully beating their funding goal by a good clip, it seems that the community has been getting distracted. The developers behind The Seed, however, have just released some new in-game artwork, so if you’ve been out of the fold for awhile (or never got into the fold to begin with), now’s as good a time as any to check out this unique take on visual storytelling.

theseedupdate2In The Seed choices have serious weight to them, with the effects of your decisions being not something that gives you a Game Over, but something that you have to live with. You’re one of the last surviving members of the human race, and 11 years after an Earth shattering, apocalyptic event, you’re taking your first steps outside of the safe cocoon of your bunker.

theseedupdate3The latest update was a very informative one, showing off some achievements the staff at Misery Dev have made, and if you haven’t seem much of The Seed, this is a great time to go check it out. The Kickstarter’s been improved, the game’s site has been updated, and the game is moving right along as planned, so go check it out. The Seed looks to be a genuinely unique experience coming to us on PC, Mac, and iPad, and I’m really excited to see how this one turns out.
