Tower of Samara is a pixel-art adventure game that is scheduled to hit Kickstarter on the 3rd of May this year. To me, the game comes off as a little artsy and pretentious from what I see, but I’m hoping that when the Kickstarter launches there will be enough info to prove me wrong.

Tower of Samsara is already an award winning, taking home the Game Art prize at SBgames 2015, and it’s easy to see why, it looks good. While the game is a 2D side-scroller, the multiple side-scrolling layers definitely give it some depth visually. There isn’t much information information available on the game at the moment, but there seems to be a mechanic where players can leave poetry in the game for other players to encounter which must mean there is some online aspect to the game. The developer mentioned that they want to add an animation that tears up the notes if players use blacklisted words.

The developer also mentions that there will be two combat mode: one that locks you into facing an enemy and the other that lets you move freely. There are apparently only 3 kinds of attack which looks like it’ll be all you need.

Personally, I am curious about the game, but not particularly enthralled by it. I still would like to see where they go with this concept though. You can check out the Kickstarter when it launches here or read some comments on this forum thread. What do you think about Tower Of Samara?  Will you be backing it once it hits Kickstarter in May?  Let me know in the comments below.
