In four years and three hundred projects I’ve pretty much seen all that there is in regards to how crowdfunding works and doesn’t work. I’ve also seen a lot of questions asked over and over again as to how some aspect of Kickstarter is handled. Between these frequently asked questions and my shock at hearing so many basic questions at GaymerX last December I decided that it was time to start up a Kickstarter primer of sorts to answer these nagging questions.

KickstarterJust what is a Kickstarter primer? In short, it’s a knowledge base to clarify how certain aspects of crowdfunding as a whole works. While my experience has been pretty much solely through Kickstarter itself many of these tips can be attributed to any similar site. A full list of topics will be found below as we add entrie, and we’ll add more as we release future installments of this ongoing series.

These articles will pretty much cover anything that you might want to know but if there is anything specific that you would like to know about please don’t hesitate to send me a message or drop a comment below and I’ll see about answering it. My focus will be backer side, but if you’re an aspiring developer yourself don’t hesitate to ask something on the back-end. I’ve critiqued enough campaigns that even though I haven’t run one myself my advice could be valuable to you.

As a side note, I’m offering a lot of tips and tricks to running a successful campaign in the Space Quest Historian podcast this season so be sure to check it out when new episodes are released.
