I will freely admit that I’m not a fan of simulator games. I’m not sure why but they just don’t capture my interest as much as other genres. With that said, I won’t pass on a game purely on that alone. With UBOOT I do find myself intrigued by the notion of taking command of a German World War II U-boat (submarine for those that don’t know). I also find it more than a bit interesting that this is being developed by a Polish studio.

UBOOTDespite not being a fan of the genre that UBOOT is in my love of the period did make me take a look. However, aside from what little gameplay that we saw in the video (which I’ll admit looks pretty cool) and a few screenshots we don’t really know much about how the game plays. Beyond a call out to Fallout Shelter, another “life simulator” that I have yet to play. I would have loved to have read more about what to expect while playing. I do love the idea that you can keep tabs on their personalities and downtime as well as how they react during battles, though.

UBOOTIf there is one red flag that caught my eye regarding the campaign for UBOOT it’s the amount being asked for such an ambitious game. Roughly $15.5k isn’t a lot, even if the publisher is willing to double whatever they get once the 40 days is up. There isn’t much mentioned about how far they are in development so they could be just working on polishing things up for release or they could be still in early stages of development. Even so, if they get funding it could be an interesting take on naval warfare and the toll living in a submarine can take on those living in one.
