I’m a big card game nut. I’ve been a fan of CCGs ever since I cracked open my first starter deck of Magic: the Gathering (and subsequently Decipher’s Star Trek CCG) and I still enjoy a good match every now and then. When it comes to new games, though, I find myself gravitating more towards those with a unique angle, such as Claimony’s upcoming outing with Allians. I brought them up back in March hoping for the Kickstarter campaign soon to follow but until now it hasn’t happened yet.

Allians

Unsurprisingly most heavily influenced by adventure games.

Wanting to know more about the development of Allians I signed up for their newsletter and as of today I got treated to an e-mail from them about when to finally expect the launch of their Kickstarter campaign. Come August 23rd you’ll be able to pledge your hard earned money to them for a unique card game that features you as the star, based on your Steam profile. Now that’s something that I’d love to see become a reality.

“Our Unity developers have been working hard on creating a working version of the game, which is starting to look better and better.”
Claimony

Of course, the e-mail also went on to say that they’ve been working hard on creating a working version of the game leading up to the event. Which I’m hoping will be playable as a prototype or demo as I’d love to know more about Allians before giving my money to this interesting endeavor. It sounds like a great concept but I have no clue how it’s going to work in practice.
