With a focus on art and music, Queen Bee Games last week announced Spinch, a side-scrolling platformer with colorfully psychedelic elements.
Spinch itself is a hyper-agile organism players control while trying to find its missing offspring. In a dangerous side-scrolling world, that’s often easier said than done. Surrounded by misshapen enemies, players will have to navigate levels with numerous paths and challenging obstacles if they want to make it to the end.
Music and Art
Working on the game’s art is Jesse Jacobs, who has worked on shows such as Adventure Time and Summer Camp Island, while also having a history of working on indie comics. Jacobs’ art will be accompanied by music from James Kirkpatrick, who creates music using custom-built circuit bent electronics.
Spinch has been announced for Steam on PC and Mac with other platform support yet to be announced. The game is slated for a summer 2018 release with an E rating from the ESRB.
This will be Queen Bee Games’ second game, having released the hybrid action adventure/tower defense game Onion Force in early 2016.
