In the last few years, I’ve been seeing more game pop up that allow you to play the bad guy, or at least someone who isn’t exactly good, but games like this are still a bit too “few and far between”, so it may behoove you to go check out Necromancer, the newest project from Other Worlds Software. In Necromancer, you’re not some silly knight saving a princess. You’re not a king of men or a stoic hero. You’re a damn raiser of the dead. You’re starting a zombie apocalypse, and you’re not too keen on the idea of some prissy hero stopping you.
That’s right, Necromancer is a real time tactical strategy game where you utilize your undead forces to protect your gravesites against people who want to save the world, those bastards. Your undead armies will be composed of not just your standard shambling corpses, but a veritable plethora of undead baddies, ranging from fast and damaging vampires and spell-weaving Liche to your standard shambling corpses and mummies. All of this and more will be at your complete disposal as you fend off waves of experienced warriors and other do-gooders. Increase your strength over time with level-ups and compete against your own high scores and statistics.
Necromancer is currently under development by Other Worlds Software for PC, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS, and backers can expect the usual fare of naming characters, designing levels, getting t-shirts, and pre-ordered copies of the game as incentives to back this project. The Necromancer Kickstarter campaign runs until April 16th and has a funding target of £8,000.
