Sigi – A Fart for Melusina is created and published by pixel.lu. This is an 8 bit pixel graphic game with tight controls so it is definitely easy to pick up and play. The game has been available on Steam for a while but now it is now available to play on the Xbox One, PS4 and Switch for a very reasonable price.
The knight in shining armor in this game is Sigi. While outside he hears a beautiful voice singing and he instantly falls in love. He follows it to find the source, a beautiful mermaid with strategically placed hair named Melusina. He tries to talk to her and gets so excited he farts, scaring her off into the water where she swims away. Not to be disheartened Sigi decides to track her down so he can proclaim his love for her, and maybe not blow it. Sorry for the bad pun but it fit in so well.
Make sure you eat your beans, and hot sauce…
Sigi – A Fart for Melusina has an interesting sense of humor. When you pause the menu says “Thanks for the break, I’m totally knackered!” When you complete a level, Sigi does a celebration dance by a food cart and farts. Or during the level you can collect hot sauce and chilly dogs, and he toots of course. So if you find fart jokes and stuff like that funny you will definitely find this game entertaining. Especially when you fight an enemy named Blind John and Sigi declares “Bend over it’s spanking time”.
Sigi – A Fart for Melusina is a 2D platformer, reminiscent of something like Adventure Island on the original NES. There is a selection of weapons for you to use against the baddies like zombies, spiders, bats and evil birds. You can use daggers, axes, maces or even just jump on the bad guy to get rid of them. The levels are extremely short, and only take around 2 minutes each to beat. In total there are 20 levels in the whole game including the final boss battle. So this is definitely not a long game especially when it auto saves your progress so you can continue where you left off. Collecting coins in the level will give Sigi extra lives or whenever you collect the letters SIGI to spell out his name. Once you get to the end boss you might want to go back to the early levels to collect more coins for lives. It will take a few to get past that last boss! The nice thing is if you have 17 lives you can continue fighting until they are all gone. You won’t get bumped out to restart the fight again.
“YOU BETTER EAT YOUR VITAMINS AND SAY YOUR PRAYERS!!!”
The story to this game really doesn’t make much sense. At least on the PS4 it doesn’t seem to. Sigi’s mermaid Melusina is kidnapped along the way by Ivan. It’s such a crazy cameo you have to see it for yourself. It’s kind of amazing they got permission or didn’t get nailed for copyright infringement, for this. I guess it’s Ivan Stinkup, not Hulk Hogan…
It’s an entertaining game for a while but definitely won’t keep you busy for too long. If you are looking for something really short to play that doesn’t require a huge time commitment this may be up your alley. If you can stand a ton of fart jokes that is. Here is the trailer if you want to check it out!
