Healer’s Quest, a light-hearted RPG where you take the role of a healer keeping the rest of your party alive, will launch on Kickstarter on April 7th. That also happens to be World Health Day, which either makes it very smart planning or just a happy coincidence.

Healer's Quest

Solo developer Pablo Coma will certainly need the luck as not only is he responsible for all aspects of creating Healer’s Quest, he has a full-time job as well and from I’ve seen of solo endeavours they do tend to struggle. In fact most of the €8,000 funds he hopes to raise will go towards taking days off from work in order to concentrate on development.

Healer's Quest

From observing the draft Kickstarter page for Healer’s Quest it’s clear Pablo is deeply committed to the project but my concern is that it does seem fairly simplistic and isn’t too visually impressive which may make attracting backers a problem. The twist on the standard RPG setup does sound interesting while the fact a playable demo will be available is a big plus point. However he’ll really need to highlight these factors and the family-friendly tone if there’s to be any chance of Healer’s Quest succeeding.
