Maybe it’s absurd that I’m excited over a Netflix and Chill sequel, but I am. Being a religious watcher of Markiplier I saw the game earlier in the year and gave it a try. I still love the goofy 2D original and always thought it could be longer. I love dating games that mock dates (yes, that’s the reason I own the Hatoful Boyfriend games, let’s go with that) and Netflix and Chill always has me in stitches. I specifically remember that picking a series to start watching together with your date is “too much of a commitment”.

Netflix and Chill

The Kickstarter page showcases Let’s Players including Markiplier.

So what is the Kickstarter about? Well, you see when Jason and Jacob made Netflix and Chill it was just for fun. They didn’t expect the game to blow up the way it did So now, with the help of Kickstarter, they want to make a sincere attempt at creating a better version of the game. I love their Kickstarter video that showcases all the Let’s Players that caused the game to get big including Markiplier. Now they’ve mentioned the game they make with the Kickstarter money can’t be called Netflix and Chill because of copyright reasons, but I’m guessing it will be ‘Flix and Chill’. ‘Flix and Chill’ is an abbreviation of the game I keep seeing on Newgrounds.

Netflix and Chill

As much as I do love the game I have to admit the Kickstarter page is not so great. At least it uses actual video clips rather than so many Gifs you can’t scroll through the page like Dire Vengeance. Still, there are no stretch goals which is a little silly I think. Personally, I don’t think voice acting is really needed and could be a stretch goal. Moving on from that, there isn’t actually all that much information about the game. If I hadn’t already known and enjoyed Netflix and Chill I’m not sure I would have given it a second glance. However, I do already know the game so I’m throwing my bucks in and encouraging you to play the original. What do you guys think of this Kickstarter?
