scale-1Sometimes great games are overshadowed by a single element so entertaining and fun that they seem to take on a life of their own.  The gravity gun in Half-Life 2, or the Portal Gun from the Portal series; while all these games are great their iconic weapons brought them over the top.  Steve Swink seems to understand this, and so he’s bringing us the next iconic weapon and making that the centerpiece of his game, SCALE.  SCALE  looks like a first person shooter with some cute cartoonish graphics, but it’s actually a “reality manipulation game” that’s sure to be a breeding ground for some of next year’s best Gifs.  In SCALE you play Penny Prince, physics savant, inventor, and convict.  In an attempt to regain her freedom, and get her cat back, Penny builds a device that allows her to control the size of her surroundings.

Hijinks ensue.

Head over to the SCALE Kickstarter page and check out the funding video.  It’s full of gameplay that you have to see to properly appreciate the game.  If you like what you see, consider donating some cash towards SCALE’s $87,000 funding goal.  You have until November 16th.
