Ever since I backed it, I’ve been excited to see more about Noir inspired RPG Pixel Noir. Each update has given me a glimpse into the current development of the game, but the latest one has some very juicy information to share. Most notably, SWDTech has signed on with a publisher and they have a release window. Unfortunately, that is a bit far off but there is a silver lining here.

Pixel Noir

Pixel Noir will be published by BadLand Games. I’m not familiar with this company, but I’m nevertheless still happy to see it get someone to help with marketing. On the same front, a release has been scheduled for somewhere in the first quarter of next year. That’s a long way off, but as with most Kickstarter projects I’ve backed I’m willing to wait.

However, to tide backers over until then the promised “alpha demo” is ready to play. If you’re like me, and decided to go in for this special backer-only build then you should be getting an e-mail to download it soon. That’s right. The part of the game that’s not in the final build for Pixel Noir should be playable by the time this article goes up.

Pixel Noir

I love a good Noir game. I also love a good RPG. Pixel Noir promises to be both, and having played the original demo I know that I won’t be disappointed. I’m also glad that I finally can try out what’s ready. I’m still rather bummed that I have to wait a year for the full game to come out, though.
