Zon Labs are looking for $125,000 to help you learn Mandarin.  Their (hopefully) upcoming title, Zon, is based on some existing educational software that helps learning Mandarin a little less intimidating.  Their Kickstarter project page doesn’t include any actual screenshots or gameplay specifics, but it does have a video with some awesome blue-screen action.

Unfortunately that’s all the gameplay you’ll see.  The funding page makes it pretty clear that the game is done and being used in various educational insititutions.  So where are the screenshots, and what is the money for?  The game originally launched in 2008, but has been dormant for some time.  This review from 2011 gives a good idea of what it’s all about.  In addition to that, the first project update promises a push on social media and existing users, so hopefully we’ll see some additional information.

The Zon Kickstarter campaign runs until October 27th, and has tiers from $1 up to $10,000.  Incentives include things like a heartfelt “Thank you,” t-shirts, custom avatars, and specially created in-game content like houses.
