Despite being a big fan of visual novels I’ll have to admit that I haven’t been following Sekai Project and their translation projects as closely as I should be. With that said, checking out the latest update for World End Economica it appears that they may have bitten off a bit more than they can comfortably chew. And, unfortunately, it doesn’t look like all of the backers are happy with this little bit of news.

World End Economica

The first bit of news is that the translation for World End Economica episode three is going to take about half a year to complete. The translation itself being about four months according to the person they hired to do the English text with an additional two months as a buffer and any final touches to the finished game. In addition, in order to help make sure that the deadline is met they have a second translator on hand should they be needed.

The next bit of information is in regards to the PS Vita port. Apparently they’re waiting for Grisaia to be accepted on the platform before going ahead and getting World End Economica added to the roster. Based on what we’ve seen previously this is Sekai Project’s major Achilles heel and honestly not a surprise to those who’ve been keeping tabs on the company. Personally, I couldn’t care less as I don’t own or plan to own a Vita but it’s a popular enough platform that enough people are complaining about it.

World End Economica

The final bit of news is perhaps the most important to those who want their money back because they’re tired of waiting. Yes, refunds are being offered and will be honored up to November 27. If you’re a backer and just want to wash your hands of this project just e-mail them letting them know you want to do this. These refunds should be processed sometime in December.
