Popup Dungeon is a Roguelike Papercraft Tactical RPG funded on Kickstarter in early 2014.

Popup Dungeon

Check out Frankenstein’s Lab in this month’s spooky update.

Halloween may have been and gone, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy a little paranormal activity, right? Well, the Ring Runner crew seems to thinks so since their latest update for Popup Dungeon shows things getting a little spooky with their new and improved ‘Haunted House II’ tileset. Ring Runner mentioned in last month’s update video that there would be some changes and it looks like they delivered! You can watch a video tour of the new tileset here.

I have to admit that Popup Dungeon is looking good, probably because I am a sucker for papercraft style games (My house is festooned with papercrafts from Tearaway). If you feel like watching the video tour in HD then be sure to keep your eyes peeled. There are lots of little details like pictures and unique food cans (bonus points if you spot the Scourge of Carpathia reference in the video) that add a lot of charm. My favourite rooms shown off in the video have to be Frankenstein’s lab and the un-living room.

Hmm, I wonder if I can find any scream cheese in here…

Speaking of Frankenstein, the update also gave us a sneak peak at two new enemy designs:

Meet Funkenstein and Jack Crow

The next update will hopefully bring us a whole new array of trendy enemies like these two (above).

Watch for the slew of new characters she’s created to make an appearance in a forthcoming update.” –Enrique
